Sydney is a currently a senior at Grand Valley State University studying Recreational Therapy. She has been volunteering with the center since the Summer of 2022 and is excited to be a Program Intern with the Teen and Tween Program this Fall. She hopes to pursue her master’s in Recreational Therapy after graduating this Spring, and plans to specialize in Outdoor Adventure Therapy with children on the Autism Spectrum.

Sydney has had experience working with children throughout her time volunteering at the center and at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. She has also had the privilege to work with children on the spectrum as an Adaptive Sport Instructor at an all-abilities sports camp this past summer. She enjoys hiking, rock climbing, camping, backpacking, and playing with her two dogs, Bear and Bailey.
