Julia lives in Berrien Springs MI and is a student at Western Michigan University. She will graduate in December of 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Family Science and Child Development. Julia is currently in an accelerated graduate program to receive her master’s degree in Child Life with the end goal of becoming a Child Life Specialist to pursue her passion for child development, teaching, and healthcare.
She began volunteering at CHC in the summer of 2024 and instantly fell in love with the kids and the mission of the center. She is now the teaching intern for the Little Tot’s preschool program and is thrilled to be a part of such an exciting time in their learning journey. As a camp counselor for several years, Julia learned that kids are unpredictable, quick learners, and that they see the world in a different light.
Outside of the center, she works as a float nursing assistant at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN where she provides care to a wide range of patients from outpatient to intensive care. She also runs a small business called Beaded by Julia selling her handmade jewelry at craft shows. Julia enjoys the business of life and making every little moment count. In her free time, you can find her with her family and friends, making jewelry, or thrift shopping.
