Sophie Schuller, CCLS

As Program and Outreach Specialist Sophie plans and executes programs and supports membership outreach efforts and referral partner relationships.

Sophie earned a bachelor’s degree in Developmental Psychology and Child Life from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  She completed her child life practicum at Helen Devos Children’s Hospital and internship at Children’s Hospital Colorado prior to becoming a Certified Child Life Specialist, working at Helen Devos Children’s Hospital.

Sophie has gained a wide variety of work experience and understanding the psychosocial needs of children both in and outside of the hospital and uses unique interventions to provide individualized support to the whole family. She focuses on utilizing play to provide normalization, education, and empowerment to children and patients of all ages, experiences, and backgrounds.

Sophie loves the mission of the Center, focusing on the importance of play and community that the Center fosters in everything that they do. In her free time, she loves spending time outside, trying out the newest coffee shop, yoga, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family.
