Stephanie Katke

As Program Manager, Stephanie spends her days planning and executing programs, communicating with member families, and overseeing all things program related in Southeast Michigan.

Stephanie graduated from Concordia University with her bachelor’s degree in Child & Family Studies. Her journey began with a child life internship at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She has since spent the last twelve plus years as a Certified Child Life Specialist at Michigan Medicine’s, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in the Hematology/Oncology and Non-Cancer Pediatric Infusion Clinic. She has an experienced background in developing, planning and implementing age-appropriate therapeutic activities. Her approach is rooted in family centered care, recognizing the pivotal role families play in patient well-being and healing.

Throughout her time at Mott, she witnessed the challenges isolation poses on immune compromised patients & their families. Motivated by a desire to alleviate this distress, she is drawn to the vision of fostering a safe environment for families at the Center. By building connections and nurturing a sense of community, Stephanie aims to empower families to thrive emotionally, socially and physically in the face of health challenges.

Stephanie’s enthusiasm for Good. Clean. Fun. grew significantly over the last four-years through her active involvement on the Children’s Healing Center Southeast Michigan Site Board, alongside her participation in Pop-Up programming.

Stephanie and her husband live in their hometown of Saline, MI with their two young children. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, traveling, tackling household projects and cherishing moments with her family and friends.
