While the outside world adjusts to this ‘new normal,’ not much has changed at the Center.
We have been utilizing the recommended screening and cleanliness practices since the day we opened 5-years ago. Germs can be detrimental to the health of our members, so we take every precaution to protect the health of our families. After all, this is the Center’s very purpose, to provide a welcoming and clean environment for medically complex kids, and their families.

For our members, social and physical distancing is a way of life. They avoid public places such as restaurants, movie theaters, parks, social gatherings, and more. School is often not an option, and “no” is a word too frequently used. This is all in an effort to protect the fragile health of their immunocompromised child. It is not only that they can catch infections easier, but that the infections are more harmful to their fragile bodies. The common cold could mean a long hospital stay for our members, and for some, could be fatal.
“For our members, social and physical distancing is a way of life.”
Isolation, uncertainty, and fear is their every day. The isolation from the outside world, uncertainty for what’s to come, and fear for the physical and mental health of their children are things our members dealt with well before the global pandemic. Things that will continue to affect them long after the world returns to ‘normal.’
This is why we exist, and what drives us to produce as close to a germ-free facility as possible. We aim to be the one place that our members can come to, worry free, and find measures of normalcy for them and their children.
